4/5 ★ – MechaniChris's review of Super Paper Mario.

I’d heard some bad things about this entry in the series, but honestly I found the platforming elements to be delightful. It’s so much more fun to hop on a weak enemy than to have to go through a battle animation every time. It also gives the game something more to distinguish itself from the similar Mario and Luigi RPG series. In addition, I love any game that lets you play as the other main characters and this is one of the very few to let us fully play as Bowser! Sure you can play him in The Thousand Year door, but only in small sections as a gimmick. It’s stripped down, fast paced, and honestly a solid Mario game in general. I sure I’m in the minority here, but I think this may be my favorite of the series so far.
