3.5/5 ★ – ModernTrooper12's review of Demon's Souls.
This one was tough, while it is certainly more solid than ds2, and many of my grievances can be assuaged with the reminder that this was the grandfather of souls, but many mechanics like world tendency still feel needless. I desperately wanted the penetrator set on my first two play throughs, but found the scaling jump from ng to ng+ extreme for a melee build. Thus I resorted to a new save on a magic build, which seems to me the only feasible way to play in retrospect. And kiss goodbye to the first ring spot for cling ring. Overall blueprint did an excellent job and will surely please veterans of the game from PS3, but it is still a product of its time, for better or for worse is subjective.
