4/5 ★ – MrIceMan97's review of Metro Exodus.
The graphics have improved from the other two games, but your character Artyom still doesn’t speak, and there is sometimes a delayed sprint when using the analog at times. The hand movement when turning switches and interacting with certain things is good but the character still doesn’t interact using his hands when picking up ammo, meds, filters etc. I’ll say the fact that the dead bodies stay in the same place and don’t disappear like some games is excellent, but they do all disappear when you die, which i guess is annoying but a good punishment if you die. The looting and scavenging in this more free roam sequel fighting monsters, bandits and cultists is so good, the way the enemies react and talk to each other is brilliant. I still believe that The Last Of Us took a lot of inspiration from the Metro franchise. I found the silent kills even better in this game, and the way you can choose to either knock them out or kill them adds either ruthlessness or decency to your character’s personality. You still get the odd glitchy parts throughout playtime, i had a bad glitch while fighting the huge bear, it sort of ruined that mission. A lot of emotion and relationship building, that makes the friendships with everyone on the train more powerful. I will add that this game is probably the least scary out of the three as this one has less monsters in it, but it is definitely the best, with some good and different styled missions, good game.
