2.5/5 ★ – MsPerseus's review of Kentucky Route Zero: TV Edition.
I usually enjoy games whose focus are the story, I would even go as far as to say those are my favorites. I love philosophy and weird stories, as well as the "study" of deep feelings that, on close inspection, are more mundane than we think. But it was too weird, or maybe too slow. I didn't like playing it in any way, I was bored: It's a good game and it's well written, but it is also painfully boring. It's too slow and, even though I felt intrigued and liked some parts of the dialogue, it also feels like it tries too hard to be different and interesting in mysterious and magical ways. It is different, but there is no "click".
However, even if a lot of people won't "click", it doesn't mean others wouldn't. The game is good and the story may inspire others. It just wasn't the right "time" for me to play it.
If you are wondering if the game is worth it, I will answer that you have to try it. It's and experience so personal that nobody can have a straight answer. So try it and hope for the "click", for I am sure that in that case you will find your masterpiece in story telling. I, myself, will try it again in the future.
