A totally bonkers racing game where you compete to not only finish first but play little mini-games along the way to collect stars, like bowling and fishing. It’s great fun, and a strange but welcome additional to the Excite series. You play as robots resembling little animals, like bats and spiders, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. I breezed through the main cups in only a few hours, and I enjoyed almost every second of it. The handling is entirely motion-based, so it can become tricky and frustrating for the later levels, but it’s never punishingly unfair, and always imaginative and silly.
