4/5 ★ – Na_jokers's review of ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN.
This game has a few first time things for me that I’ll get into later on in the review.
This game is a fantastic unique experience from fromsoft. How does it compare to their other games? Well it’s very unique, so I don’t think it’s fair to compare when they’re something completely different, but different has never been so good. While Elden ring, dark souls, etc, are immersive, fleshed out and gripping, this is addicting, satisfying, and fun. They’ve added game mechanics that are the best they’ve ever been, and it’s really does help the pace and gameplay.
There’s a few flaws, which can easily be fixed, it’s just a thing where it’s like, why not have it to begin with?. I’m talking about cross play, and game chat. It would make it a lot easier to play with your friends, but also make it a lot more bearable to play with randoms, as that’s the only thing I found myself getting slightly frustrated at.
I also think a few more weapons, sprinkled in there could be a good touch, and potentially a few more bosses from different games (darksouls). But, I believe they will come with updates, which will acc help the life span. I just hope they aren’t only added in with dlc, and added in over time, with a live service type beat.
The nightlords. Easily some of the most fun and cinematic boss fights I’ve gone against. This franchise has upped my expectations for bosses. I specifically want to talk about Caligo, now this might be the first time a boss has actually made me emotional from the actual beauty of the design, move set, and the music. The music might be one of my favourite ost’s of all time.
This is also the first game I’ve been eager to do all the trophy’s on, as I’ve beat all but 1 nightlord, I don’t want to stop playing, so I think the next step is that.
