2.5/5 ★ – NeatNat's review of Absolver.

Absolver is a weird case. The combat is amazing. Other than a couple of grievances I have with it like the slight delay with the tank move and the complete lack of satisfaction you get when you push someone/get pushed off a cliff, it's a really fun and rewarding system. I, unfortunately, cannot say that about anything else in this game (except the music and art style) The best way to describe the game design for this game is that it feels like a Roblox game that was ported to Unity with new models and new a combat system. The whole game just feels like an Early Access title, like it's still being worked on. That's not good. I would've been fine if this was just a fighting game, but they decided to add a world you have to explore. The problem is that there's practically nothing to find. It's basically just one big confusing hub world with completely and utterly unhelpful maps. You wander around for half an hour trying to find the next guy to fight, fight them, and do it again. BUT, the fact that you can fight other players in 1v1 arenas gives the game more value. I didn't unlock Downfall, but the mode seems pretty cool. Very mixed on this game, but the combat is so good that it elevates the whole experience for me.
