4.5/5 ★ – NexusofVenus's review of Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Fun fact, I was in the hospital when this game was announced. I was on the fuckin bed like dying and shit and I practically begged the nurse to let me see my phone so I could watch the trailer. I won’t lie I was scared this game would be another Xenoblade 2, but I’m glad they returned to a more sensible cast that doesn’t waste half its characters on comedic relief. Unfortunately, the ending of this game was ruined for me by unfortunate circumstances, and now that I’m finally playing it again… I love it even more. HOWEVER. While I do love this game it has two major issues. The information thing… that sucks. Idk who the fuck was like “yeah but a secondary form of dialogue that takes more time and you can’t skip it and half the time it doesn’t trigger”. That’s dumb as fuck. That combined with the armu breeding shit takes a whole point off for me. Also please space Jesus can we leave the fucking “follow the tracks” missions in the past? I cannot think of one person who enjoys them. But beyond that is probably a Xeno experience that only pales in comparison to xenogears. Story wise it’s fantastic, characters are great and the gameplay is the best yet. Combat is way more fun. The only slight problem is that the game doesn’t really tell you classes won’t unlock if you’re fighting enemies more than 5 levels below you… which is easy to do since exp is more than plentiful in this game. But hey the Xeno series once again reasserts that it can make grinding a thing of the past and it kinda does. Being able to level up and down is really nice and allowed me to tailor the experience. All in all this is probably one of the best installments of the series. As the credits roll I feel overcome with sadness. Not because it’s the end… but because the absolute fraud Rex gets to have three baby mommas and my glorious goat Noah gets a “we’ll meet again someday”. I stg if Xenoblade 4 doesn’t give my goat his future with Mio…
