4/5 ★ – Nirv's review of The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-.

Currently at 60/100 clears so I feel comfortable giving it a WIP review score. I think the first route, second route, (still to do SF route) and cult of takumi are fantastic. There’s some other routes that are also very good that I’ve done so far, namely coming-of-age, romance, v’exhness, eva & retsnom. They all give some very, very good character moments and good story beats. But, there’s some that totally stink like boxes of blessings and serial battle that are just slogs to play. The stories and endings aren’t even bad, they’re just pains in the ass to get through with constant exploration or skipping battles. That said I really like the game. I like a lot of the characters and the greater depth we get in a lot of the routes. The story and world are pretty cool. My real complaints are the slog routes, the battles being easy and repetitive and material retrieval being too time consuming towards the end. Even despite these complaints I’m having a great time working through all of the additional routes. Looking forward to any potential DLC routes that get added. Would recommend to a Danganronpa fan, which is more than I can say for Master Detective Archives. Didn’t even finish that game.
