3.5/5 ★ – OkamiGames's review of Yakuza 5 Remastered.

Although it falters at certain points in terms of pacing, this was easily the best of the Remastered trilogy. The gameplay feels a bit more modern and the new additions are all implemented well. Unfortunately the main story feels a bit too long. It really could have done with some trimming, especially during Saejima's part. The new playable characters were all interesting and their stories were surprisingly good though. I loved how Kiryu was portrayed in this game. He's a grizzled veteran now and he's been through a lot. More than any other entry so far, he really feels like the Yakuza legend everyone makes him out to be. Overall a solid entry but I still wouldn't put it up there with Yakuza 0 or Kiwami 2.
