2.5/5 ★ – Onahx's review of The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition.

Four swords is what I've always considered to be the most "whatever" Zelda game. Originally developed as an add-on to A Link to the Past's GBA port, it was later re-vamped into a somewhat more full game with this anniversary edition... which was only available for a year before being pulled from servers. Anyhow, Four Swords is the series first attempt at multiplayer, and as a fun little co-op adventure with pals its perfectly playable. Some enemies require teamwork to defeat and many puzzles have you throwing each other across pits and such. The boss fights are where the game shines the most, with boss design that requires players to split up tasks and work together. This used to be the go to road trip game for pals and I when we were kids. There aren't really many negatives other than the fact that it's just kind of forgettable, especially in hindsight now that Four Swords Adventure and Tri-Force Heroes exist, two far more remarkable co-op Zelda games. My only big gripe with it is the randomly generated levels. In this playthrough in particular I was generated a room in Talus Cave that was simply impossible to solve. It's a super rare occurrence though. Nevertheless, Four Swords is a fun enough little Zelda side quest. It's definitely made to be played with a group though, Anniversary Edition introduces a single player mode but it's kind of sad.
