4/5 ★ – OneTapFistigi's review of Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward.

*spoilers* i still loved this game so much but it could've easily been a masterpiece. i was longing for a killing game mascot since 999 and we finally got it in this game with "Zero Jr.". And also i loved the AB rooms and the paradoxes this game talks about like the Chinese Room, Schrödinger's Cat and The Prisoners Dilemma. But unfortunately those are probably the only improvements from the last game. Going from the 2D sprites to 3D sprites was probably THE WORST decision ever. At least in Zero Time Dilemma they aren't sprites but full 3D models so it's not awkward, (even though they kinda suck too) in this game its just too crappy looking. Also in 999 i was all for the mid game section too because i never had to skip text. but in VLR i was just on the same dialogue for like the 18th time. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SEE ALICE'S DIALOGUE IN FRONT OF THE INFARMARY DOOR. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SEE QUARK GOING INSANE. the games length is too long for the ending to not be a ''thats it?'' ending. i do love the true ending and the character endings but it just takes way too long to get there that it loses impact. also the characters are not really good as the last one. i only liked Alice and Clover and they were both in the last game or have been mentioned. and also Phi is okay i guess. again Spike Chunsoft makes me question my wit, sanity and my sexuality. also it makes me hope all the money that goes to these games go to the writers for their therapies. THEY DEFINITELY NEED IT.
