4.5/5 ★ – Ota_Kuu's review of Dark Souls III: Deluxe Edition.

Owning the Day One Edition, I've spend countless 1,000s of hours with Dark Souls 3. It appears to be the most welcoming to new players, may that be in difficulty or access to co-op. If you're having issues with a boss there's usually an npc or player summon sign available, making the task of taking down a boss for the first time more enjoyable in a comrodery sense verse sheer force of will. The variety of classes and weapons to pick from allow for extreme replayability as well when it comes build making, same goes for the spells and pyromancies. If you want to be a mage that uses a magic sword and spells you can or if you want to shoot fire and wield a giant weapon, those options are all available to you. Game progression can also deviate if you are able to kill certain bosses early on, opening up late game to you and all it holds, as well as access to the dlcs. The same is true if stuck on a boss, these is usually another path to take and a different challenge to face. That being said, pvp is still active; some of my most put in time focused on invasions and arena builds. The bosses all feel unique and some hold lore connections to areas and characters from the original Dark Souls, and as a fan of the series, I really enjoyed experiencing them for the first time. Ng+ does not add much apart from challenge and rings whose better version can be found in the Ringed City to begin with, making ng+ nearly worthless apart from some collection trophies. The first DLC, the Painted World of Ariandel, may have felt short to some but came with access to the arena as well as a great fight with Sister Friede The Ringed City DLC was an excellent experience that ended the series in a very grand scale with some of the most memorable bosses in the game since the Nameless King. Dark souls 3 is a more openly assessable to new players though can take time to fully master and appreciate it's depths.
