4.5/5 ★ – PacoRUK's review of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

It's a great game. The story, writing, characters, gameplay, music and art design are all top tier. I honestly only have tiny nit picks after finishing the game, I wish there were loadouts for Pictos because changing them constantly depending on the situation is very time consuming. As much as I do love the way most of the game looks, sometimes the environments can look a little muddy as if they haven't had as much care put into them as other parts of the game but considering the team size I think that's entirely understandable. The game does a great job of taking influence from other RPGs but putting it's own spin on then, unfortunately it does mean that once or twice it teases an RPG staple (the case I'm thinking of right now are the two casinos in the game that are just locked doors with dialogue for an NPCs but no actual mini games). It'd be good to have a Golden Saucer type area and a card game like ff8 or 9. I love the parry mechanics of the fights, it makes the game feel more like Sekiro than the more traditional jrps.
