2/5 ★ – Pencil_Nexus's review of Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex.

Why the fuck did I do this to myself? The idea of 106% this particular Crash game was a shitpost, because my friends and I knew how awful this game was. At first it wasn't too bad. For positives, the game doesn't feel too bad. I'm playing on PS2, so it has a framerate and control scheme that is classic Crash. The colors are vibrant, the first two worlds have some decent stages, the powerups (except the stupid sneak one) are pretty enjoyable to use, and the music ain't too bad. The rest is fucking atrocious though. All the bosses are awful, worlds 3-5 are riddled with shitty vehicle, Coco, water, or mech-loader levels that make me dry heave. Going for completion was fine for the most part, even with the aggregious stages, is what I would say, but the final secret hub was locked behind the time trials. Time trials are probably the worst aspect of the game, because you get to experience every broken hitbox, every brain dead "AI", every awful controlling ball or vehicle section, again and faster. These were the worst part of the game. The secret hub was easier than the previous levels and time trials, it's so bizarre. Don't 106% the game, don't even play it to begin with. The real Crash 4 came out, I should have just played that instead.
