2/5 ★ – PenetratorGod's review of Baldur's Gate III.

One of the worst optimizations in gaming history... In development since 2016. Early access in 2020 and then full release in 2023. Finally, it's 2024 and despite a year of nonstop updates, Baldur's Gate 3 is still not a stable game. The game's technical infrastructure is still horrible, with long tedious loading screens followed by slow loading of textures and random FPS drops and stutters. Although the graphics are from the early 2010s and there is no massive open world, the game does not play smoothly even with the recommended system requirements. FSR 2.2 is useless. No matter what graphics setting you use, the game is incredibly laggy. They could at least add FSR 3.1 and Frame Generation features but they don't bother with that either. If you do some research on the game, you'll find hundreds of optimization related complaints, mostly from users at the time of its first full release, but the developers didn't pay much attention to them, and they couldn't come to terms with the fact that they couldn't optimize Baldur's Gate 3. You won't find another game with so much credit from the playerbase for such a sloppy and terrible development process. It will definitely always remain for me as one of the most overrated games. It's not a game that deserves this much praise. Optimization is the core of a game, and this is a game that can't even rise above mediocre.
