3/5 ★ – PhantomKook's review of Gotham Knights.
I give Gotham Knights a three out of five because the overall story and gameplay are fun and interesting. The issues I have with the game are very few. Having to do four big and lengthy challenges for every knight for the gliding mechanic is absurd and unnecessary. The glitches were very noticeable in the game and even to where I could not finish missions because enemies would be stuck in a corner. Even in some cutscenes Redhood’s hoodie string would just stick out. The grapple was okay, but it is a step down from the arkham games. I think the grapple should focus on where the camera angle is looking and not the characters position. Now the good does out way the bad. The story follows the four knights and how they all want to live up to batman’s legacy and this game does a fantastic job at showing how they are affected by the death of batman and how they are going to take the mantle as the protectors in Gotham. Having Alfred as a support character for every knight was perfect every cutscene felt like a movie scene and I was so interested in every interaction. I especially loved how they all referred to batman whenever they were doubting themselves or needed answers. Seeing these four come together as a family was emotional and this was one of the biggest strong points of the game. I did not mind the villains in the game they served a purpose for the knights and again having those interactions were enjoyable for a batman fan. The main story was off to a good start, but I do think it was mashed together at the end. I loved chasing down leads for the court of owls but to switch main villains like that made me lose a little interest in how the story ended. Overall, I enjoyed the game and if you a batman fan this is a game worth checking out. Thanks for reading!
