3/5 ★ – PhatBaby's review of Dishonored: The Brigmore Witches.

Brigmore Witches is a significant improvement over Knife of Dunwall, although it still shares a lot of its problems. Delila and Daud's feud continues to lack much to latch onto and doesn't even make much sense until the final mission. Meanwhile, the anti-hero's inevitable collision course with Corvo is much more prevalent this time around (and poses an admittedly interesting internal conflict for the character) but never gets enough time to work. That being said, the final mission winds up telling an interesting story in its own right, finally revealing who Delila is and why she's important to the Dishonored universe as a whole. On the gameplay side, there's only one unexciting map this time around, with the first mission offering a fairly run-of-the-mill return to Coldridge Prison from the original Dishonored's campaign. The other two maps are fun environments to explore, especially the climactic contract, which is an excellent blend of new ideas and unpredictable enemies. To that end, there's just more here in general that strays from Corvo's mainline adventure, including teleporting witches, hell hounds, a useful "pull" power, new gangs and the addition of more non-lethal weapons. None of it's groundbreaking, but considering Knife of Dunwall just felt like more Dishonored, it's cool to see Brigmore Witches try some new things. I'm still under the impression this is the weakest stint of the series (both narratively and gameplay-wise), but Brigmore Witches is a step up from Knife of Dunwall. In hindsight, a lot of the story does factor into Dishonored 2 and Death of the Outsider, so I guess that makes it worth a play too.
