5/5 ★ – QV_Shy's review of Super Smash Bros. Melee.
You can cry "Bugs! Glitches!" all you want, but the reality is that this is one of the greatest fighting games of all time. Each character plays differently than another and there is a ton of room for self expression. Whether you want to play casually or competitively, there truly is fun to be had for everyone.
The gameplay is fast, chaotic and deep if you wish to go that route. Single player has some great game modes, especially if you enjoy speedrunning. Do yourself a favor and go to a local tournament! There's a reason that people still play this 20+ year old game.
The music is top notch. The graphics are obviously old but still look great due to great art direction. This game has that N64/GameCube era Nintendo strangeness, back when they were more willing to take risks and try new things. It may take you some time to get used to the controls, as this game does not implement the buffer systems found in the newer Smash titles. But once you get a feeling for it, this is the most fluid and responsive game you will ever play.
