5/5 ★ – QuimnTheDragon's review of Super Mario Sunshine.

Despite it’s flaws, this game still reaches master piece status for me. The fluidity of Mario’s movement when mastered has never felt better. The sheer momentum and range of what Mario can reach makes for one of the best platforming experiences off all time. That being said, the devs give Mario all these moves and a literal jet pack, make him faster than he’s ever been and yet there’s a lot of objectives where the devs wanted the player to work against this move set such as spraying the shine panels in the casino, rolling the watermelon slowly down the hill, or making sure you’re perfectly angled when talking to the throwing piantas etc. What it boils down to is this: some of the objective design is falling a little short here and seems to work against the player more than in other entries, where as moving, jumping and jet packing as Mario feels genre defining. P.S I’ve come to actually like the blue coins. Some are total garbage, but a lot come from fun little secrets of the player experimenting in levels. P.S.S Delfino Plaza is best hub world.
