4/5 ★ – ReverieVagabond's review of Back to the Dawn.

This game ate up my time more than I expected. If you liked The Escapists, wanted something with a bit more story, and don't mind (or are into) furries, this is an easy recommendation. While it's in "early access", as of the time of writing, the game is feature complete for the first playable character. You can fully enjoy his story as well as all of his escape routes. Just keep in mind that this game runs on a 21-day cycle. I recommend doing the first playthrough blind to just get a handle on everything because you will likely fail it. Luckily any skills you've learned can be transferred into additional playthroughs. There are two additional characters on the way. The second one is, once again at the time of writing, in the "stage of polishing and refinement" and is likely to appear sooner rather than later. More characters on the way means more opportunities to come back to this game and try something new, so that's always a plus from me. The only other comment is that despite me initially finding Thomas a little ugly, I found him a lot more adorable as time went on. The sprites, expressions, and animations are all a lot more detailed than they have any right to be, and things like him sneaking past a guard to enter a room or him curling up when he's having a nice dream is hard not to love.
