4/5 ★ – Ronse179's review of Mario Kart World.

After having completed all Grand Prix events, Knockout Tours, and plenty of online matches with randoms — and unlocked all outfits — it's hard not to be impressed by Mario Kart World. It fundamentally changes the formula and feel so much that, for the first time, I actually had trouble playing it during the first couple of matches. But when it clicks… IT CLICKS. The new grinding mechanic — both on the ground and on rails — is such a unique way of changing the entire mindset behind how you play. You constantly change your playstyle, and every race, even on the same map, feels fresh and new. I've only played for 15 hours so far and plan to put in many more, but right now, this is the score and the feeling I'm getting. Update: Okay… it’s still a great game, but I do feel like the open-world aspect isn’t as interesting as I hoped it would be. Also, the long drives between race tracks take something away from the overall experience. Why can’t we choose to have the classic Grand Prix, with 3 laps around 4 tracks with no driving in between races? Hopefully, this could be added in the future, but it feels like Nintendo doesn’t give quite as much freedom to play the way you want.
