4.5/5 ★ – Royvlution's review of Minecraft: Java Edition.
What can I say that hasn’t been said, it’s Minecraft. This game is so huge it overtook every other game to date in sales and is still going extremely strong even after 10 years.
Minecraft starts out each new world by throwing you in and letting you go wild. 90% of the time this will work wonderfully, but 10% of the time you’ll spawn on an island with no trees or a desert, and to a new player this is the worst situation to be in. To experienced played this means a bit of traveling to get to a forest.
There’s definitely a slight learning curve, but compared to other games (something like Terraria for instance) this is a very manageable thing, and since there’s a tutorial on the main page, I think this can be easily fixed. So long as new players are aware of this.
In my opinion the best way to play this game is either with friends or by learning from someone else through YouTube, because this game really is best with others.
The only problems come with the company Mojang themselves, making players vote on new mobs instead of just adding them all in, because they definitely can. But I suppose the upside is it will be more exciting when a mob is added in and makes it more special.
Overall I’ve been playing Minecraft since shortly after it came out, probably 2011, late 2010. But I know I will still be coming back to this game in another 10 years.
