4.5/5 ★ – RyanWStewart's review of What Remains of Edith Finch.
What Remained of Edith Finch is a masterpiece. This game was something I wasn’t really expecting to love as much as I did but I became infatuated as the game progressed. The way this game was presented was really well done from the interactive environment to the intriguing story.I was hooked as soon as I saw the house because it reminded me of the Weasleys house from Harry Potter, but I found as I found out it’s not as happy as the Weasleys house. It was very sad and depressing throughout the whole game especially Lewis and Gregory’s stories. But it was still beautiful going through all of the stories of the Finches and how they died and how they lived.I just couldn’t put my controller down when playing this game because it was so interesting and it felt like the game was trying to tell me something.I think they were trying to show they effects of death and how different people react. As I said the story of Lewis really got me because of how much I related to him.He didn’t like the real world because of gloomy it was and he didn’t like the real Lewis because of sad and depressed he was.So he created a better world and a better version of himself that he liked.I feel like we all do that sometimes to escape from the reality that we live in.It just in Lewis case he reached a point where he believed that killing his real world self was the only way to be free and live in his own reality that’s he made.So Overall this game is severely underrated and I think more people should check out this game and really experience what I felt and what other felt while playing this game.
