1.5/5 ★ – SKeLeTrust's review of Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered.

This game is bad on purpose lmao It has a clever concept that revolves around basing itself on shitty 90's edutainment games, and as you might expect, it plays like one. My main problem with it is the horrendous amount of RNG. Very rarely does dying in it ever feel like my fault. A lot of the time when I'm trying to carry out a strategy to win, an obstacle like the Principal, Playtime, or 1st Prize show up and completely fuck me over without a way for me to reasonably correct it or ever being in my control. After a while, it just stops being fun and rather just a waste of my time cause I always know something can happen at any moment to throw my run in the dumpster. That said, I may not recommend trying to beat the game yourself, but it does make for a great YouTuber game. Gameplay aside, I think the concept behind Baldi's Basics is very clever and amusing, and the shitty 90's edutainment aesthetic is a big reason why this game feels like it's trying actively to be bad. So I wouldn't call this game a failure at all.
