2/5 ★ – SaveOurSouls's review of Sonic the Hedgehog.

Such an Iconic Sonic game for all the wrong reasons. I remember seeing this game as 6-7 year old back in the day when it released, I thought the game looked so cool with realistic graphics and models and the introduction of Silver the Hedgehog, I wanted to play the game so bad but I had no ideas of console generation at the time. I didn’t play the game until 2009 at my cousins house, and in 2011 and I got my own xbox with this game being my first 360 game, i payed it and it was fun but I definitely saw all that was wrong with the game, this game was such a broken mess and I remember quitting this game for over a year at the mach speed zone for the water level whatever it was called, i beat the game a year later and I like the small segment that we got to play as the support cast in the final chapter, I thought that final boss fight was cool with all 3 Hedgehogs going super. This game had so much potential to be one of the best Sonic game ever but it failed horribly due to the rushed release date, the game would break on its own, soooo many glitch and you would sometimes get stuck in motion and die when you hit a wall during the mach speed sections, some boss fights were just bad like the battle against Silver that he would get you with his telekinesis and keep chucking you into the wall with no way to get out of it until you die. I didn’t like that running speed for the character in this game was much slower than any game before it, Sonic feels alright but Shadow became so slow and Silver should just being flying around instead cause his speed was the worst of the 3. The story was serious and got dark and weird with the whole Sonic and Elise relationship that should have never happened like WTF?? The story had potential to be very good but the gameplay was just terrible and made everything in the game much worse. Shadow still had character to him in this game, showing that he cares for his team Rouge and Omega and was willing to die fighting along side them, this was the last time we got Shadow as he was originally portrayed before we go the egdelord version of him in later games. The game was so bad that it Literally erased itself from the existing canon. This game has my favorite song in the series “ His World” Zebrahead Version Sonic games never miss with their music.
