System: Xbox Series S Was really surprised how well Tomb Raider held up despite being an 8 year old game. The combat and the exploring were the best part of the game. I’d even say I liked the combat better than the Uncharted series since you can upgrade all of your weapons, made me feel like looting and exploring were worth my time. The brutality to the combat is a big bonus as well. I also really liked Lara as a character. They hit a good balance of tough but not cocky, and made her vulnerable when she needed to be. I also liked how she’d nerd out about treasure she found. My only gripes with the game were how quickly she goes from scared girl in the rain to cold blooded killer. It’s an old criticism but it’s still pretty jarring. I also wasn’t crazy about the story or the side characters. Them being stranded on an island with a cult unfortunately sounds way more interesting than what it ended up being and the supporting cast was pretty dull. Had a blast playing this though and looking forward to playing the rest of the trilogy.
