4/5 ★ – SilenceOfTheLamy's review of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.

I’m a huge fan of the original Quidditch World Cup, even though it was extremely easy even on the hardest difficulty. This is a decent follow up, it’s not perfect, but I had fun with the several hours I played. It’s weird that there’s a time limit, catching the snitch only scores 30 points, that you can catch the snitch multiple times in a game, there’s only one Beater per team and the score cap is set to 100 for each match. On the one hand I can see why they made these changes, but on the other hand, it’s not true to the game of Quidditch at all. The gameplay itself is fun. I like that playing as a Beater and Keeper is an option. However, playing as the Keeper is probably the most boring position in the game as you’ll be spending most of your time defending the goal posts. And whilst it’s fun knocking out players as the Beater, they still don’t have as much an impact on the game as say the Chasers and Seeker which is where the game truly shines. I’m not sure how I feel about the role of the Seeker basically being the Quidditch mini game in the Philosopher’s Stone PS1 game. But it’s still fun nonetheless. Playing as a Chaser is just as much fun as it is in the original game, even feeling much like Rocket League at times. I like it a lot, but there also feels like there’s missing content. You can’t name your Quidditch team players for some reason, there’s a surprising lack of stadiums to play in and it overall just needs some polish and refinement. Overall, I had fun with it!
