4/5 ★ – SilverScroll's review of Dredge.
A very solid game
* in order for the full experience play in a dark room at three in the morning *
Dredge is essentially a fishing sim with inventory management and while it sounds quite boring once it clicks with you, it really clicks creating an addictive gameplay loop that never outstays its welcome. Tasked with getting five artifacts from around the map dredge introduces new threats and gameplay features to keep the game interesting and a light but interestingly tragic story makes for a nice background.
This games horror is on point, play this in the right conditions and it is terrifying, always keeping the player on edge due to the eldritch abominations which come out in the darkness. One of the things I found annoying about dredge was how a light bump could damage your ship and take out an important part of your ship, this was incredibly annoying but seeing as how this is my biggest issue with the game it shows you how good it is.
Dredge is an excellent, accessible fishing sim with great lovecraftian undertones and while it's not for everyone and it has a few small issues it's still an enjoyable time.
