Cemented as the best game I’ve ever played. Beyond engrossing and devastating. Despite anticipating all the encounters, the tension never lets up. That’s in large part to the perfect gameplay. But a huge shoutout to the audio team, because playing the whole thing with headphones was insane. As incredible as the writing and cinematics are, the impact of the experience comes from the fact that it must be played. Having to press buttons and perform horrific actions to progress. I don’t know if a film (or HBO series) could ever have me invested in quite the same way. Naughty Dog makes some good shit.
