4.5/5 ★ – SlashStriker's review of Disco Elysium.

'Legacy' Review from 4/9/2021: I love so much about the game’s world, the gameplay concepts, the art, voice acting and the writing. It feels so complete, in away that few games in recent memory do. Characters are so immediately understandable, whether meant to be likeable or not. Kim Kitsuragi is the ideal RPG party member. I would love to recommend this game to all kinds of gamers, if nothing else than to expose them to such an incredible creation outside of the common modern genres. That being said, I wish that the PlayStation version wasn’t released in the state it was. The game deserves better. I faced numerous crashes, interactable objects that broke and cutscenes that froze the game with no escape but closing the app. I faced two separate hard game crashes in the final sequence that immediately took me back to my experiences with Cyberpunk. Even the moment to moment interactions with the environment are sluggish and almost always require multiple inputs to complete a simple task. For such an incredible narrative experience you shouldn’t have to fight the game every step of the way. Hell, there are even items in the game that are inaccessible to the point where there are unobtainable trophies. I’m not getting the platinum for this one anytime soon.. Neither is anyone else! I played this game on PS5 and paid retail price on launch day.
