4/5 ★ – SlashStriker's review of Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island.

The Ghost of Tsushima Iki Island expansion accomplishes its most primary task with ease. If you are looking for *more* GoT, this is it. Not only is it more, it is quality stuff! The new open region, main and side questlines and new open world content types all share the same high quality you have come to expect from this world. Whether the story being told grabs you and keeps you engaged is another question entirely. I loved getting to hear more from Jin’s conflicted mind around his youth and role in this new island. Side characters, both new and returning, were well voice acted and served their roles nearly as well as Jin’s core crew. The difficulty spike took a bit of getting used to, having been years since playing the original storyline. That said, it was quite welcome once I was warmed up and back at full force with my armada of ghost tools and samurai techniques. PS5 enhancements were greatly appreciated in my run, this game has aged gorgeously and still stands up as a game with truly premium visuals. Ultimately this is a skippable expansion for those eager to continue their adventure with Jin Sakai ahead of the inevitable sequel. If you feel you got your full from the base game, don’t stress about this expansion. If you are looking to burn some time, there are much worse ways to go about it than popping over to Iki island! I played this game on PS5 as part of my PlayStation Plus Extra subscription.
