4/5 ★ – SoftLockJake's review of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Champions' Ballad.

A more than serviceable expansion to the base content of BotW! The quality of the new shrines eclipses many of the vanilla shrines, and the One-Hit challenges were fresh and mixed up the gameplay that I have put over 200 hours into at this point. The new divine beast also breathed life into the game, and fixed some of the frustrations I had with the other four by streamlining the puzzles. The Master Cycle 0 improves the already stellar traversal of BotW in ways I can't really describe. The fact that I played through most of the game without it bums me out because riding around Hyrule on the sickest looking bike of all time really enhanced the experience for me, and is the reason I know I will return to this save file one day to get the 100%. The story is still whatever. Although the cutscenes were all well animated and cool, I felt that the story was really lacking, just like vanilla BotW, and this was a big miss from the team to broaden the lore to levels of previous Zelda entries. I would have loved if they really fleshed out the characters or the world through the use of atmospheric storytelling or even just more flashback segments.
