4.5/5 ★ – Sp0kn's review of There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension.
There Is No Game is something special. It is a game that breaks the 4th wall and plays with the player. It is more of a puzzle game than I thought it would be (then again, I didn't know much about the game before playing it).
Most puzzle are very fun and you have to think outside of the box (or the game!), but some of them I'm not sure how you can solve them without a bit of help. I feel this is the case for most puzzle games, you can't hit a homerun with every puzzle. Or maybe I'm just dumb ;) The point and click style and the use of items is nice, but I feel that it could have been exploited a bit more, like mixing items together.
The voice acting along with the jokes are something that stands out. At first, I thought it was going to be generic and cringe at times, and while it's right on the line of being cringe, I thought the dev nailed it. The story is also something that took me by surprise for the visual style and gameplay loop of the game. The general design of the game and originality is top notch, I liked that the dev used traditionnal set pieces and mixed it up to make a satire. It's hard to explain without spoiling the game, so I'll just say that the game surprises you more than once with different worlds.
There Is No Game is great and I recommend everyone playing it, you won't regret it.
