The best Gears of War game. The first Gears game that attempts to move the series forward in multiple ways: - The inclusion of the more open areas in the game drastically change up the pace from the standard Gears gameplay, allowing for exploration and more opportunities for dialogue between characters. - The upgrade system for your robot is another nice way to give incentive to explore and to have another thing to keep track of besides shooting. - Moving away from the standard military tough guy with a protagonist that is against the idea of Cogs and has some ties to the Locust. - Reframing the war between the Cogs and the Locust (again reminding that the Cog government is fascist). At the end there is a story choice that the player makes which slightly changes the ending, but it feels a little tacked on like they wanted to add another new feature to the Gears series but it ultimately isn't anything too special. However even with this negative, this is probably the closest an Xbox exclusive had gotten to being like a PlayStation exclusive.
