Observer is arguably the most cyberpunk game made in recent years (I still need to play Umurangi Generation). Bloober Team are masters of set dressing and lighting, making the tenement building you explore come to life and tell you multitudes about the world. Gameplay is divided into trippy “dream” sequences that are nicely paced and allows the team to go wild with some inherent storytelling, and exploring the tenement building and talking to its residents. This again allows for even more immersion into the world. Voice acting is also pretty too notch, the main character’s line delivery is both strangely comforting and also just completely dreamlike at times. It’s unfortunate that I was only able to play the original version...it still has some performance issues and the re-release has improvements and some new gameplay/side cases. This is probably my favorite horror game from Bloober Team with Layers of Fear 2 being a close second. Can’t wait to get into The Medium!
