4/5 ★ – SplinteredGaming's review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed.

I had a really fun time with this game. Is it a great game? No. Is it fun? Yes, and that's all I really wanted from this game. I was skeptical because of the publisher, but I thought the devs did a pretty good job with it. The story is pretty decent and is an interesting continuation of the Mutant Mayhem universe. Whether or not they will acknowledge it in the sequel is yet to be seen. The gameplay is actually pretty solid. I really enjoyed the combat. Some of the boss fights were pretty cool even though they were pretty basic. For the most part, the cast was pretty good. Some actors didn’t return, which is understandable since they would cost a pretty penny to be in this. As far as I know, all four of the actors who voiced the turtles returned, and they all sounded great except Mikey. I don’t know why, but Mikey sounds odd in this game, even though in the movie and show he sounded really good. Another thing that didn’t sit right with me was the final level. It itself was fine, but there was barely any build-up to the twist, or even after the twist they didn’t really explain much in between the cutscene before and the boss fight itself. I was thinking about Platinuming this, but some of the April and Splinter side missions never popped up, so I don’t know if that was a glitch or if I just missed them. Overall, I thought this was a pretty fun game. I’m a big fan of this new iteration of the turtle and I’m happy to see it expanded upon here.
