4/5 ★ – St0rm's review of Destiny 2.

As you scroll endlessly through steam's store page, you come across a free game you've heard of before. Taken aback by the fact that it's free, you click on the page and start looking through the pictures and videos it has to offer. After a while, you've seen enough and you bite the bullet, after clicking install you look at the 100 GB's of pure horror being poured into your pc. Each gigabyte downloaded you feel yourself starting to... resent yourself and those around you more and more? "What is this feeling?" you ask yourself, confused by the hatred you feel, you still press play once it's done installing Loading in, you see the title card of the game. DESTINY 2, you click play not knowing what lies ahead for you. After a little bit of time you're given an option of choosing whether you should be a Titan, Hunter, or a Warlock. "What an interesting choice" Obviously you chose Titan being the brain dead person you are for installing this game. You traverse farther after customizing your character, you're brought into the New Light campaign. It's teaching you all about the functions of Destiny and what this game is truly about. As you finish up your new light campaign, you think to yourself "Wow! what a game, the planets i can travel to seem so cool i wonder which one i should go to first?" You click on a planet and something pops up. "What is this? I need... a $60 Expansion to go here? I'm not even sure i like the game well enough to do that yet. How about i try going somewhere else." You end up hunkering down in the EDZ. You wonder why you dont see anyone else knowing that this is a AAA live service game with lots of players. After traversing through the EDZ and eventually getting to a new point of boredom you didn't think existed, you go to the tower, you see all the people hanging out with their cool looking gear. You realize that this game could be for you. "Could this really be it? Could this be the game i've been looking for? A game where there's regular updates that support the player base? The devs actually care about their fans and give them enough content to keep them coming back?" No. You are wrong, you see destiny is different. Destiny is a game where you'd think the 100 gigs of content is actually enough for you to keep playing for years on end. But when bungie releases something the fans actually enjoy, they take it away from you and give you false hope saying that "It will come back again one day" When that day is actually just when their player count drops and they release old content we paid 60 dollars for 5 years ago. That's who bungie is, they've shown that you do not own digital media, you pay for something online and it absolutely can be taken from you. With constant sunsets of content every year and less and less content being added to the game, it really makes you think why you should keep playing this game after putting so many hours into it. "Why? Why do i keep doing it, why do I log onto destiny everyday knowing im going to sit in orbit most of the time waiting for something to happen?" It's because you hold onto the hope that destiny might be good again like it was all those years ago, but the reality is, it's never going to happen. So after everything i've said, Do i think you as a new light, should play destiny? Yeah, i do, and let me tell you why i think so. Destiny is a great idea of a game. If you're even looking at this review of destiny and you've never played it, you're thinking it has everything you're looking for in a new game to play and it probably does. I think everyone should give it a chance at one point. But it's a game where everyone will always be years ahead of you. When you start out and you buy every expansion, you have to sit through and play every single old campaign just to even start to think that you'll get up to where every veteran is. But you wont, most people who have played this game for a long time will tell you that you shouldn't play this game and that it's too late. I say it isn't, it's never too late. If you are genuinely interested in this game then you should just go for it, sure you're gonna have to spend over $100 to get the true d2 experience but if you really want to do it, then go for it. This game is limitless when it comes to the will of a brain dead person like yourself, you can grind it for the rest of your life and there will always be some guy on youtube or twitter who has more god rolls in his vault then you ever will. So do it, spend the money, play the game, see how bad the community is for yourself, feel the hatred go into your blood, and always remember to never do riven legit. - Yours Truly Storm
