3.5/5 ★ – Stagivian's review of Wario World.

Wario World: I always wanted to play this game just because it wasnt talked very much and it was a 3D Wario platformer what else would I want in life? Let's just say Wario World delivered. It has so many weird and unique elements to it. Such as falling down a pit makes you go to a room where you try to escape the room but if some ghosts catch you you lose some gold. Another unique thing is how many species and different worlds there are, it was so refreshing to see a whole new world with new things to explore and see. I would recommend the game just to see what kind of enemies there are and what kind of a world this is. Also this game is Wario's personality at its best. The voices are funny and well done and his nose going down and up just adds a lot to the personality along with some other things such as Wario gaining health from garlics. Now if we are talking gameplay the game is sometimes very fun but sometimes tedious. The levels are long and all levels have sub levels called "gems" akin to Super Mario Odyssey's challenge doors. There are 8 in each level and the level can want 3 to 6 of them. Some of them are just very dumb or it takes long to understand. Some are so easy that it doesnt even take 10 seconds, there is no balance to them. The combat is fun but it gets repetitive due to how many times the game throws it at you and some enemies are just skinned as the old ones you've seen. But aside from those problems the platforming and ideas the game has are pretty fun to see, most bosses are so fun to beat and levels have a lot of collectibles so its very fun to explore too. To conclude Wario World is an obscure gem that was left on Gamecube with so much detail and love put into it even though it can be tedious and dumb at times. I fully recommend at least giving it a shot!
