3.5/5 ★ – Standingonrocks's review of Momodora: Moonlit Farewell.

Momomdora: Moonlit Farewell was a fun enough Metroidvania platformer. It's a bit simplistic at it's core, something that didn't really drag it down or raise it's other qualities. You explore a maze, find items, backtrack through gated areas, increase your stats and kill enemies. You're spurred on by a story that meant little to me, even having played the 4 other games. The combat is pretty simplistic, with a few chain attacks and a ranged arrow attack. I was able to spam most bosses with that and their upgrade "Sigil" system, which lets you strengthen or change your attacks. I started to chase achievements at the end of my playthrough, then realized I have exactly zero interest in playing through the game again only harder. It's biggest draw is undeniably it's big, smooth, pixel art. Moonlit Farewell does look great, and the enemies all are frequently buxomed, but I'm sure people have noticed that from the Steam page pictures. The music was ok, nothing spectacular but it sets the ambiance. Anyways, 7.5/10. It's alright.
