[PS5] 9~ Hours
A pretty disappointing game that is lacking in playable content (as of the launch window when writing this, that i beaten all in normal difficulty at least) but also the content available is a mix of being short, anticlimactic lore/map progression wise and overall not very exciting which is a pretty bad feeling to have when the game has a AA price tag at launch.
The game also seems to suffer either by a player count or a matchmaking problem making the solo player queue experience pretty miserable, because as far as i’ve tried, every time I wanted to matchmake a specific job (a mission divided in 3 levels) and difficulty I wanted, I’ve never been able to actually find a match or other players to start a match, leaving you only the option of starting it solo (and most likely being solo through it all) or choosing the random job quick play which is the only way to consistently find other players, which sucks if you want to follow the natural order of jobs or you want to grind a specific resource for upgrades.
The gunplay/gameplay is pretty good (i was surprised to see decent/good FPS mechanics from a more TPS based studio) and the level art is cool ad moody as expected since it has that Control environment.
The progression is pretty quick and straightforward (after a patch) which i liked, you just need to collect intel (like a currency) throughout the levels to be able to buy base items for the kits and cosmetics separated in Helldivers-like free (except the Deluxe Edition one) Battle Passes other than the starting level of quite a bunch of passive skills, which can be upgraded with job specific resources that you can find more of depending on the difficulty.
Essentially pretty mid game, maybe recommended with friends or just as a random game to play while waiting other more exciting games which is probably gonna be my option while i wait for a possible Back 4 Blood 2 or a generally more interesting co-op shooter to scratch that itch more fully.
