4.5/5 ★ – Stobie's review of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

We need an Avatar game in the same style as this like yesterday. The story of this game is identical to Last Airbender in a number of ways (hero being gone for 100 years, destined to defeat the evil that has caused chaos, has a glider, etc). This would be such a copy and paste job that its not even funny. I played this game at the exact right time. During the lockdown started in March, I was stuck in the house with nothing to do and constantly missing the outdoors. Breath of the Wild fulfilled all that with its beautiful environments that are as desolate as they are gorgeous. I could walk through grassy hills and climb mountains. Just need to watch out for the weather from time to time. This isn't some boring Ubisoft open world game that fills your screen with map markers that tell you where to go and how to complete objectives. You actually have to figure things out for yourself here. But this game is by no means perfect and its story could be more developed. I also think making Link a blank slate this time was an awkward decision when characters directly speak to him or ask him questions and are met with dead silence. An easy way of fixing this would be to have Link use sign language which I think would be a cool bit of representation for the disabled community whilst still having him respond to people without the need of a voice. Regardless, the emotion this game envoked upon me was like no other and that is why it is one of my favourite games even looking past some of its flaws.
