4/5 ★ – SuperSonicHeros's review of Shrek 2: The Video Game.

((Gamecube Version)) The Shrek game that everyone talks about. The Shrek game that's more well known than any other Shrek game. I'm honestly still very impressed with it after replaying it again years later. It graphically looks great and holds up for its time. Shrek 2's art direction honestly looks incredible going through each level. Soundtrack is so amazing and fits well for each level you play through. Voice acting is no the best but good. But they did a good job with voicing these characters. Gameplay is very fun. Really enjoyed the 4 player beat em up style gameplay. It's originality is very great and really fits into the Shrek universe if it could. Humor is also great. The writing, while not the best, does work so well with what this game is going for. I also like how each character feels unique and feels really great to play. I think the gameplay for fighting enemies is flaws. While I really enjoy going through each levels, fighting some enemies can be annoying to where some of the time enemies can attack through your attacks and can get lucky hits on you. Doesn't happen often or that much, but still can be annoying at times I recommend getting friends to play with you because the AI for the computer players is garbage. There are times where the cpu can get stuck behind something and you have to get back to bring them back. Then there are a few moments where they can get stuck in any area causing you to not progress through and having to start over. Then there are moments where they can get in the way or not go to where you want them to go when doing puzzles. And then they sometimes fall in death pits and because you need all 4 players to advance, one cpu dies then you basically all die. Idk if the ai is worse or just as worse as the ai for the Eds in Ed, Edd, N Eddy: The Mis-Edventures and Oswald in Epic Mickey 2. Yeah it's that bad. It's honestly annoying how dumb the ai can get when playing by yourself or with not enough players. Shrek 2 the game still holds up and is a great game. Despite it's age and the computer players being dumb and some minor issues with the gameplay, I'd say it's pretty great for those that are fans of Shrek 2 or the entire series. Gameplay is still very fun, art direction is amazing, great originality. You'll most likely enjoying it. And if you want to make your experience much better, than ask anyone to play with you.
