0.5/5 ★ – SuperSonicHeros's review of Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.

There is a lot to say about basically Sonic's first RPG. Which is honestly cool to think about. Just think? A Sonic game that's a turn based RPG. Developed by BioWare who has done Dragon Age and Mass Effect. You might think? Well since it was developed by the same development company who did those games that means this game is good. No. No you are wrong. The story is just boring and interesting. The more I kept going, the more I just didn't care about the narrative. Not only that but this game has everyone out of character and fucking annoying. The only character who is actually likable is Cream. Everyone else annoyed the hell out of me. This gameplay... my god I full on hated it as I kept on playing. The bosses are awful. The turn based combat is god horrible. Everytime you get into combat with any enemies, it goes on for way too long because not only do you get way too many turns, but the enemies you fight get even more turns than you do. The special movies you do is annoying because they are always QTEs. The game also plays it's self everytime you do an attack. It's just padding the game just to have it go longer than it needs to be. The pacing for this game is so bad. The visuals here is just awful. I never seen a DS game that has an ugly art direction as this one. You know... I would've had this rated higher if the game's soundtrack is great. But no! The soundtrack is god awful. One of the worst OST's of any game I have ever heard. The game models are also ugly as hell. Not only is this one of the worst sonic games I have ever played, not only is this one of the worst RPGs I have ever played, but man this is one of the worst game's I have ever played. The story is boring and uninteresting. It's visually awful with it's art direction. The soundtrack sounds like ass. The gameplay is way too horrible to get why people love turn based combats. The characterization is horrible. I can't believe I wasted my money on this but sucks to be me I guess.
