(Revised) review from January 2021: This game's singleplayer and multiplayer are much different experiences. Singleplayer had an interesting story, and the CPUs were fun to play against. The music was fantastic, definitely a soundtrack everyone should listen to. And the gameplay wasn't bad either, though it was a little foreign at first. However, multiplayer was a much better experience. Being able to play against a real person is not only more engaging, but it makes for a more enjoyable time and loads more laughs, as beating up your opponent never fails to tick the other person off. Would I say this game is worthy of a full recommendation? No, but it's not far off. A hockey game worthy of that would be Ice Hockey (also on NES), but this one isnt a bad substitute either. If it had just been more smooth with screen scrolling and had slightly tighter controls, it would have been a worthy addition to anyone's collection.
