4/5 ★ – SyIens's review of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
The last three games I played were God of War, Death Stranding, and this. Troy Baker is in all of them. I swear Troy Baker is in every video game ever😂.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a good game, but not the same as the first game. Despite being good, the story just doesn’t have that same “special” feeling that the first one does. Also, the city outside of Harlem feels empty, whereas it felt full in the first game. The play-style of Miles is good and varies enough from Peter. However, even though the gameplay is good, it again just doesn’t have that “special” feeling of the first.
It might be because I was playing this on a PS4, but I had a lot of glitches and issues. The biggest one is an audio issue where the dialogue for half the characters in a cutscene wouldn’t play, and some sound effects and music wouldn’t play, which ruined some of the best moments in the story. It became so bad that I had to delete and reinstall the game, which was very annoying. Maybe I’m just spoiled because GoW and DS were basically perfect experiences in terms of glitches and such, but it definitely was one of the most unpolished games I’ve played in recent memory.
I didn’t platinum it, but I will come back to do it since it seems like one of the easiest platinums to get. I finished the first game in 2019 and didn’t come back to finish the DLC and platinum it until a few months before this released in 2020. I’ll probably do the same and come back to this game a few months before SM 2 releases. And speaking of which, I am super hyped for that and the future of this franchise.
