Maybe my least favorite souls/borne game. It's not bad, but you can tell that this game wasn't made by Miyazaki. The T for Teen rating does indeed bring the game down for me. It just doesn't feel as brutal as the other Souls games in the series. The combat is still tight and solid, and a lot of the bosses are really cool. The music is beautiful. Majula is a great hub area, filled with some cool characters, one being a talking cat. Speaking of the talking cat, playing with friends in this Dark Souls is absolutely frustrating. You must buy a ring from this cat, equip it, which takes up an equipment slot, have your friend put the same ring on his character, have one of you put down the summoning sign, and then pray it shows up in the other person's game. I don't know who thought that was a good idea, but holy shit, fire that guy.
