4/5 ★ – TheLastWord's review of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
I really really love this game, but there’s also a LOT that can be improved with it. You can very easily make competitive decks and collect a lot of cool cards without spending a single dime on the game, which is really great. However, once you run out of those free hourglasses for packs, it becomes overwhelmingly clear that unless new reward incentives are added, it’s going to be extremely difficult to keep up without spending money. I can’t really knock the game for speculation though and I’m going to keep trying to play without spending for sure. Otherwise, having a Pokémon card game finally playable on mobile that also makes the gameplay much faster than before, kind of the length of something like Marvel Snap, is so fun. The art for Pokémon cards were always next level and it’s exactly why I collected them in real life, but I never got to play the actual game a lot. Therefore, it’s nice to be able to collect really cool cards and also make decks and be able to play online. I would say one’s interest in Pokémon greatly affects their prolonged interest in this game. Basically, if it wasn’t Pokémon, I’m not sure I’d be as interested as I am. Also, PLEASE add a system that rewards you for playing online like Hearthstone’s gold system. Add a ranked system too. It’s a great game and really addicting, but there’s so much stuff to make it better and I don’t want it to take several years to get there like Pokémon GO.
