4/5 ★ – Thrust's review of Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores.

I wasn't planning to log this. Since it's a expansion and not technically its own game. But to be honest it's got as much content as plenty of games that release so why not? The main campaign was surprisingly good. They could of easily been lazy and not put too much effort in. Like I'd say the Frozen Wilds campaign was decent but there's nothing memorable about it. But here you can tell they really wanted to level up. And it works well. Length wise it's about the same as Frozen Wilds. The main campaign is 7-8 hours and then there's a couple extra hours of side quests. That are all worth doing. The new character they introduced in this dlc is actually one of the stronger character in the whole series. And I think there's a good chance she will be popping up on sequel games. The new gameplay mechanics are nothing revolutionary but they do help to enhance combat and make it even more enjoyable. I'd say the combat ontop of the amazing visuals are the main selling point of the Horizon series and these are all very welcome editions. Mainly the new weapon that I won't spoil and the grapple onto enemies. I am a little biased because I absolutely love Forbidden West. But I do think if you enjoyed the base game you should definitely purchase the dlc. I mean it's so cheap for what you get. I was expecting the price to be like £25-30 and I was willing to pay that. So it was a very nice surprise to see the £15 price tag. For 10 hours of new content I think it's more than worth it! Go try it for yourself. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
