4/5 ★ – Titan_'s review of Ghost of Yōtei.

When Ghost of Tsushima came out in 2020, that was my personal game of the year. As someone who struggled to really find much enjoyment in open world games, games like Ghost of Tsushima really changed my perspective on how open world games can be enjoyed. So when it was announced that there was going to be a sequel, I was excited to see what the team at Sucker Punch could do next. Obviously, the world design and art design of everything is amazing. It's just as beautiful of a game as Tsushima was. The music is also another high point of this game. It really added a lot from exploring the open world to fighting in fierce battles with enemies. The combat is still just as fun in Yotei as it was in Tsushima. I fear however, that the game doesn't innovate that much on the combat beyond giving you different weapons instead of different stances and the ability to throw dropped weapons. It still felt like Tsushima, which is fine as I enjoyed Tsushima. I was just hoping that there would be a bit more innovation in elaboration on the groundwork that Tsushima set.
